Los NFTs («Non-Fungible Tokens») son registros de autenticidad digital de propiedad de la obra de arte digital, registrados en un sistema blockchain. Aunque se pueden hacer copias digitales exactas (y las posibles infracciones asociadas) de la obra de arte, solo se adjuntará al original un cierto número de versiones únicas de la misma (NFTs). De ello se desprende que la obra de arte digital se considera un producto que puede aumentar de valor y puede revenderse a un precio más alto. Y solo los propietarios/autores y/o titulares de nfts podrían beneficiarse de él.
Un activo representado por nfts puede ser un activo inmaterial, como un meme, un tweet, un gif una obra de arte digital, música, accesorios de juegos electrónicos (armas, ropa, etc.), software, etc. o puede ser una representación virtual de un material. activo, como pintura, bienes raíces, automóvil, juego coleccionable (tarjeta de un jugador, por ejemplo), etc.
Los NFT se crean y ponen a disposición en varias plataformas como «Makerspace», «OpenSea», «Nifty Gateway», «Rarible», «SuperRare», entre otras.
Un buen ejemplo, son las obra del artista Beeple: (i) «Crossroad» se vendió por 6,6 millones de dólares o (ii) «Everydays – The First 5,000 Days» alcanzó en Christie’s 69.3 millones de dólares. n fuerza en el mercado de las obras digitales.
Recientemente el mercado de los videojuegos ha empezado a trabajar mediante tecnología nft en la interacción con los «gamers». En este sector, estos tokens se utilizan para asegurar los intercambios de vienes inmateriales en juegos, por ejemplo monedas de oro, intercambio de productos, premios, etc.
